Open Books is a Chicago based non-profit enterprise that collects books, resells them and uses the proceeds to support their community and literacy programs throughout Chicago. Their dedicated volunteers work with thousands of high-need and low-income students, from grade school thru high school,  providing reading and creative writing programs. The bookstore itself has an inventory of more than 50,000 donated books and has been revered as “a rainbow-hued literary Wonka Wonderworld.”
