I purloined the latest copy (2/11/13) of the New Yorker from my doctor’s office…now digging into what was to be the initial chapter of a planned memoir by Joseph Mitchell, Street Life: Becoming Part of the City…the book was never published…

I sometimes get “waiting room” and “lending library” mixed up a bit..but I do ask permission…
